Florence revisited

November 21, 2025

After 12 and a half years, I found myself back in Florence this week for a workshop. I was last here in 2013 for my honeymoon and was eager to see how much has changed. While a lot has, unlike other places, a lot was also familiar. On the last night of the workshop, I was joined by Harneet so we could tag on a vacation (especially with the Thanksgiving holiday next week.

I had only 2 mornings to explore since I was in Florence for work so we mostly skipped most of the tourist attractions. The exception was the Uffizi museum which we skipped the last time we were here (at the time, we were still early in our working days and very very conscious about how much we were spending so picked one museum per city).

The duomo was as gorgeous as ever and ponte vecchio did not disappoint - especially if you beat the crowds. Below are some clicks!

And this wouldn't be a post from me without pictures of food right! Right! From tiramisu at Pompi, pasta at Trattoria Zaza, paninis and pasta from the central market, pumpkin and potato pizza, or gelato from La Strega Nocciola, the food was fantastic. And yes, I have never had bad wine or bad coffee here either. The two mornings started with cappuccinos and cornettos from Vintage Cafe and Ghibellina.
