Da Nang and Hoi An

After a good night's rest in a hotel not on a cruise 😉, we started our day bright and early with our limo driver picking us up to take us to Marble Mountain. This mountain has three peaks and an elevator available if you don't feel like climbing up tons of steps. The peaks were filled with the most gorgeous marble statues I have seen and have some fun small caves to explore. We skipped the last cave since it was more of a scramble but enjoyed all the pagodas, statues and views from the mountain.

Now, it was already hot at 8:30am in the morning so we all got in a good nap on the drive UpTo Bana Hills, our next destination. This is a fun popular location where we got to explore a french village, see the Golden bridge where a mega sculpture of the hands of God holds up the people of the world on a golden bridge, visited the lovely french gardens filled with colorful flower sculptures and saw a massive Buddha statue. We also rode on the world's longest cable car ride to get there and I finally tasted the popular egg coffee (tiramisu in a cup of coffee). This location was super fun but we were all definitely overheated at the end of it.

We saw the dragon bridge on our way back to the resort. To round up a fantastic day, we visited An Bang beach and grabbed the most amazing meal at Purple lantern restaurant where we shared delicious white rose dumplings and a local Hoi An noodle broth dish called Mi Quang. I also had the most delicious green beans I have ever eaten and some mango bbq shrimp. Highly recommend this place if you come to Hoi an.

And then today, I melted. I think we are all suffering from severe heat exhaustion at this point. We headed out for a supposedly light day checking out a couple of sites in Hoi An including the Fujian Assembly Hall, the Old House and the Japanese bridge. We also checked out a lovely traditional show in Hoi An. After seeing this, stopping for lunch and doing some shopping, and tasting some black sesame soup we were about ready to drop. The heat is crazy and is likely going to be worse in Ho Chi Minh when we get there tomorrow. So something to look forward to 🤣. Here are some clicks from our day today.

And we wrapped up with a dinner at Mango Rooms to celebrate my dad's birthday (albeit a little early).
We enjoyed our dinner while sitting near the river and watching the boats go by lit up by lanterns.

And now it's time for bed. Our flight is at 7:30am so it's time for bed before we make it to our last Vietnam destination - Ho Chi Minh. Until then - bbye!
