Welcome to Mumbai

I'm here! After a long long flight, I got home at 3 AM. My parents were at the airport and the glow on their faces took all my fatigue away instantly. After getting home and talking for quite a while, I actually fell asleep and stayed asleep. This may sound a little weird but the traffic sound is actually soothing to me since I grew up close to busy roads. I woke up to parrots and pigeons and my all time favorite breakfast - fresh brun/kadak pao (a bread I have found only in Mumbai - crisp on the outside and soft on the inside) with Amul butter. This combined with Bru coffee (probably the closest instant coffee to the popular filter coffee) made for an awesome start to the day. And my parents scored me some custard apple too. If you haven't tasted this wonderful green and white fruit, you are definitely missing out. It all vanished pretty quickly.

While I was installing software with Dada, Mama whipped up an amazing lunch in no time. Green pomfret fish curry with tender methi (tender fenugreek leaves) that I have never found outside India.
Now a little overfull, I went out to roam for a bit in the evening before heading to mass and clicking a selfie with the originals. The walk really helped in digesting my lunch by literally melting off a layer of something as sweat (still pretty humid here).
